Unknown Cross

I got this cross with a IK2, War Merit Medal and KRETA cuffband. Apparently the lot came from a German Fallschirmjaeger. I don't recognise it and I don't think its german! It has 1875 on one side and 1915 on the other, there is also a cream and gold ribbon but not sure if this was for this cross! Any ideas?

Its actually silver in colour but its bad photographs!

Dan is correct. It is a Bulgarian soldiers cross.

Bulgarian Medals looks like German ones:Cross,swords...When you see them with a standing lion,you can tell it's a Bulgarian Medal.

Many thanks for this chaps, can anyone point me to a website that explains about this badge? Also I guess this was awarded to Bulgarian troops not German? Also is it a WW2 or WWI medal (1915 on the award!)? Why would a German FJ have this badge, other than just picking it up from somewhere - any thoughts?

This cross was awarded to german troops. There is a version with the date "1941" but apparently the "1915" version was also awarded during WWII.

Hi Mike,

it was awarded to Germans too, in WW I and WW II.

The first in WW II awarded decorations were decorations with 1915, later the correct decorations with 1941 were awarded.
