Medalbar with bulgarian award on estand

I'm interested by the following medalbar :

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=241996

Just find strange that the bulgarian soldier's cross is stamped "1915", I know that a "1941" version did exist. Was the 1915 one still awarded during WWII ?

Maybe the Bulgarian award was received in WW1.

      Hi Garulfo

"Was the 1915 one still awarded during WWII?"

Yes, in the first time. I have already seen such sets.

      Regards
      Uwe

        uh-oh

        Oh?
This bar on its face is not right.
There were exceptions to the rule-and maybe old stocks were used first for issue to the troops in the Balkans (notibly Gebirgjager troops). But Bulgaria didn't have troops in Russia to speak of, so it's not a Bulgarian bar-but who knows-some sort of hiwi? Doubtful though. It's not a WW1 german awardee, as otherwise there would be an HK of some sort.

Thanks for your help. So this man ( a german soldier) received this cross for the Balkan campaign. At this time stock of "1915" were used. He later received the Ostmedaille and finally the EK2 (according to ribbonbars found together with this bar) but this one wasn't put on the bar.

No EK2 on the medal Bar. Just on the 2nd ribbon bar. 1st ribbon bar corresponded to the dual medal bar. I should have took them and if you want them I can get them back from my buddy, I usually let him take ribbon bars because I do not like them.

It would make sense that the parade dress mounting never was completed to include the EK2, especially if the award was later...when parades were less common.

However, as an unusual grouping, the meatching bar should remain with the mounted set.

If I'm lucky, I could get the ribbonbars back...

Thanks to Münster (and sorry for your finger Dion...), the set is now complete. The 2 place ribbonbar is very small (and very salty, certainly saw some action !), I never saw this pattern before.
