    Thankyou Jono

Thanks mate, the 4 year SS medal on the left comes directly from an SS vet and the one on the right is exactly the same,so therefor 100% original. The 1st class is supposed to be a jeweller made period piece but nobody seems to know much about it,thats why I use this forum.I will open an account as soon as I have a credit card. Thanks again.

The 12 year is the £25.00 fake that has been discussed here quite a few times recently.

          Thanks

Although I agree it could be a fake I dont agree thats its one of them crappy fakes, the quality is second to none and there is absolutely no comparision to those known terrible fakes, feel free to post a photo of them so called $25 fakes, then you will see what I mean.Ive been collecting for 12 years andpaid a lot of money knowing that it was not the same as the known gold guild frosted originals but quality speaks louder than words and thats why i took a punt and purchased this medal.During the War other makers made other models of medals that are unknown to the record and believe me when you have this thing in your hand you will most definitley be in two minds over its originality, that i gaurentee.

A couple of years ago these medals cost about £120.00 from EG Frames before being discontinued, but they have since made a comeback in Morigi's catalogue for £24.99...so it is possible that there has been some drop in quality for this more recent run, but I believe that they are both made from the same die (or mould). In particular, compare the 'S' of 'DIENSTE' & the 'R' of 'DER', also the flowery oakleaves & the way in which they are mirrored through to the reverse on the lower voids to the swastika. The newer, cheaper examples seem to have finer stippling & shinier 'frosting' than your example. Is that a casting seam visible on the edge of your wreath?
