I have pics of my grandfather's third class cross, with swords, and its case. If anyone is interested, I'll send them to him... I can not post pics.

          Best regards

            Hello Bill,

That Grand Cross Star with Swords is just to much for mortal man. I think that that is the nicest example that I have seen. I have been to many shows and have not seen one to rival yours.

Thank you for the pics, I think I will use the Grand Star as a wall paper for my computer, since I will never own one.

            Best Regards,
            JD

Pablo you are correct. That is a scan of your badge that you sent me a while back. I forgot where I received the star scan, but I will mark it now. I still envy your very rare Eagle Order.

Any history on the general and any explanation as to why his correct name wasn't printed on the pamphlet that came with the set?

Well, the text on the booklet cover can be roughly translated as:

TRANSLATED ABSTRACT OF GERMAN EAGLE ORDER REGULATIONS
AND DOCUMENT AWARDED TO EXCELENTISIMO SEÑOR GENERAL DON A. CEBRIAN.

                    A. CEBRIAN stands for Arturo Cebrián. I don't find any errors.

EXCELENTISIMO SEÑOR is a title, just like "His Excellence", and DON is much like "Herr" or "Mister"

                    Best regards

                      THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION

Thanks for the explanation. I humbly apologize for my ignorance of the Spanish language. With the greatest embarrassment I must admit that I failed elementary Spanish and barely can speak English.

I don't know about your language skills... being a foreigner, I can understand everything you write, so your English must not be that bad. But your Third Reich awards lore is simply incredible... please continue making us learn more and more about that era German decorations.

                        Best regards

                            William,

The booklet written in Spanish is the regulation of the Order of the German Eagle, it is a translation of the original one... here I post a scan of the one of my relative.

I am searching for information about this general and I hope to send you interesting things about him... I hope to find a letter of him in my relative´s archive!... meanwhile here is the back of the star

                            All best,

                            Pablo

ANOTHER LOVELY SCAN OF A MOST DESIRABLE ORDER STAR

Pablo your reverse scan is also extremely well taken. I will add this to my files with your name this time if you will allow me to do so. I also thank you for the information you have provided and in advance for any further information concering the General you may uncover.

                                Hello William,

Finally I have found 8 letters of General Cebrian. These were sended to my ancestor and are in his archives... now in my possesion.

I see that Arturo Cebrian was the General Secretary of the Supreme Advice of Military Justice.

The majority of the letters treat of topics of military justice and in some he asks my relative for favor for friends or even his sons.

I have scanned one of the letters but today I am not able to post the image... I don´t know why. I am going to send you an e-mail.
