For Neil. To answer your question on names of manufacturers I have the following remarks.
I have no written proof of any particular maker(s) of this badge. Dr. Klietmans books do not mention any as far as I know. Some people state that the makers on paper wrappings often encountered for the TDB's are actual manufactures; all I can say is that the paper packets also to be described as small envelopes (light brown paper with often different markings) do not have any actual provenance at all. These light brown paper packets with manufacturer stamps appeared on the market together with the so called 1957 pieces and with other obvious reproductions and therefore not accepted as authentic wartime packets by the more serious collectors. Also there are blue types (seems the same paper as used on EK2 packets) these have also been disgussed often but also have mostly been found with reproduction badges in them, however a blue packet stamped on the rear by Moriz Hausch A.-G. Pforzheim exists in a collection, the owner states he has actual provenance. The funny thing is that I would expect it to be stamped Moritz Hausch A. -G. allthough other medal packets with definate proof of authenticy stamped Moriz Ha... are very common, there is a good chance it is authentic. I will get a picture of it on this thread. Here is a example packet which we see flying around with it's reproduction badge.
