I would be nice to see them anyway … like the rest of us share our collections and not just things that are for sale.

None of my bars that I post here are for sale … the only ones I have ever had that I no longer have are ones that other collectors have specifically asked to buy or trade (for their benefit) or one which I gave to a friend as it completed his set and was a mis-fit in mine.

As promised … I treated myself to a storage and display case for my ribbon bars. They are spaced thinly according to where I feel there are gaps that I can probably fill eventually.

          The photos ..

Beautiful storage case Ian (I saved your picts for reference)

Great for ribbon bars but judging from your pictures the drawers are probably deep enough to accomodate a lot of different stuff (badges, decorations, iinsignia)

                Best

Ian - you have over a hundred bars now! Very nice and congrats.

They are a fun collecting focus that don’t break the bank; and they provide so much in terms of research opportunities.

Now the only thing you have to decide upon is if you’ll fill the rest of those drawers with more ribbon bars or decorations.

                  Best,

                  J-

Cheers JC, They were flat ply when I bought it and had been used for cap badges that had been Bluetac'd in place I added the back, sides, padding and backing material.

Right now the hobby will go on hold. We are waiting to hear if we (me and Jackie) are going to go under a 12 week lock down due to her M.S. and lack of immune system. I am working from home anyway for now under a company rule that critical staff are separated and quarantined. IF I'm stuck at home for 12 weeks I will be renewing the deck in the garden and a few other jobs I have postponed over the past few years to prevent me from getting in Jack's way

                    Cheers, Ian.

                      Ian,

I love the storage case. Your collection is shaping up nicely.

                      Kind regards,
                      Pierce

Yeah, I hear you. We are all in the same boat here. I’ve been offered some very high end - and very expensive - militaria of late. No judgement, but it feels irresponsible for me right now.

Life and our very survival has to be the priority at the moment, it hasn't even started to hit here in the UK and the East Midlands in particular ... we haven't had a single death from Coronavirus in Derbyshire yet. Once this pestilence has passed and we have a cure we can pick up the pieces economically and see what is left to pay for silly bits of coloured ribbon.

The detail on those ribbon bar EK II spange minis (and lapel pins which used the same dies but mounted on long pins rather than the clips used on ribbon bar devices) is often good enough that you can actually link the mini device to its full size relative and I cant do that with the one you show...
Wait for better opinions but I've attached a bunch of mine for comparison

                                Cheers
