Great thread! I am glad that there is a chance for the book of Rethymno 1941 battle similar to this (great publication) about Heraklion. By the way Rethymno is my favorite place in Crete.

This is the supply beach of group Kroh after 26/5/1941. Gran Sasso you have found it correctly. Note that the seafront was a few meters in, comparing with the today google photo. From this point Wiedeman group was about 12 km away. They were in very bad condition about 200 capable men, maybe less.
