Hi All,
Tim,if it's correctly packed then No is the simple answer . There are different ways to pack a chute, but in the G.R.book AXIS PARACHUTES it actually tells you how to pack a chute in the correct German fashion,it also helps if you have a jump trained Vet in your Group which FJR2 U.K. has .
As i said before if all the components are there and in excellent condition, the no.s match Canopy,Deploment Bag ,Pack Tray and Inspection Booklet, then its obviously all been together since WW2.Then if it has to be repacked then fine by me, i use my collection as you know in FJR2's re-enactment display, if you were to purchase one (not packed) then we will gladly repack it for you correctly, no problem .
As to the price of the chute on e-Bay i went to $1850. as you know, the guy who won it looks like a New guy (no feedback) from the U.K. For a U.K price thats good, but and it's a Big but, unless he knows he's way round the postal system he is going to have one big customs charge ,so he will end up with a bill for around $2800 ,yeah 1500 bucks is about right,on the day it fetched more, obviously someone wanted it more than me,i hope he gets much enjoyment out it,it's a fine rig and one to be proud of .
