    Hi Leroy,
    FYI - the HBT material that the eagle is sewn to is from a splinter pattern field-division jacket. No jump smocks were ever made of this material , so we can be pretty sure of the jacket type. The eagle itself is also made in HBT, which is much less common than the blue wool eagles normaly seen on FD jackets. Altogether, a nice piece. !

                              Nice find Steve! Congrats.

                              Anything else to report from Beltring?

                              As for the other olive eagle it is not the same one IMO. It is ususual to see a smock eagle (especially of a style which was late war) with such backing. I will do some checking and get back to this thread later.
