        I agree Howard. I was looking at a bunch of mine and they have the pocket seam and the lining as your does. That is why I feel the one I posted is not from a normal tunic.

                  A rare breast eagle from the 09 SOS that should be on this thread as well.

                  This eagle sparked an important discussion about smock eagle application on the SOS thread in Fj. That discussion should be here as well. IMHO This SS eagle is the only case where straight stitching of a jump smock eagle was done and is acceptable.

                  Willi will be covering this in detail in his upcoming book.

                        Beautiful ( and rare ) eagle, Michael.
                        Looks like it was cut from a tight-weave cotton smock like the one on pages 18-19 of the Kurtz book.
