Yes, this is not first time I meet a reworked photo. Another example was not a paratrooper, but an italian tank commander who served with Tiger Tank in 2 Kompanie Schwere Panzer Abteilung 502: Alfredo Carpaneto.
He died 26.01.1945 and was awarded with RK in 28.03.1945...and his photo have the Ritterkreutz on his neck!

some of Rammelt's military items popped up at a flea market here, some very nice photos of him, also one of the retouched ones with the KC, and 2 of his award docs (for the Crete CT and the GAB).
Unfortunately I was too late, but was able to pick these interesting pic.
