    Oblt. Siegfried Rammelt

    Rammelt was commander of Engineer Platoon FJR.3 and was killed in March 21, 1944 during a counterattack started from Hotel Continental in Cassino.

        March 21, 1944. During one of many counterattacks, Rammelt is killed leading his men near the Continental Hotel. This photo show his body and the exact spot where he was shot in the head by new zealander fire.
        The Hotel Continental area is on the background in the "Now" photo.

                      rammelt,s nachfolger als pi.zug führer fj rgt 3 wurde lt. christian unverzagt.

                      hat jemand von euch informationen zu lt. unverzagt?

                          "Rammelt won his KC posthumesly at 11th of june 1944 - therefore the offc. shown on 1st pic could not be him. Or it was reworked (It was, IMO).

                          Ltn. Christian Unverzagt took over Rammelts command as leader of the pioneers of FJ-reg. 3.

                          Anybody has any info about Unverzagt?"

                            Pictures were often re-touched with Oakleaves or a Knight's Cross afterwards.
                            But you should use the English language here, so everybody can understand.
