Calling all CKL/ckl para helmet owners.

    Hi,
I am trying to see if there is a difference between CKL and ckl marked para helmets. If you have one in your collection, please can you help.
I need to know whether it is CKL or ckl, followed by the lot number, and does it have a decal.

For example, I have : CKL68 2764 ND (spanner bolt)

Please try and find the time to check. Many thanks

    Steve

Good survey idea Steve. Think we should add bolt material and type to your list.

Will get back to you next week.

Interesting subject Just did a little research throughout my "files" and last but not least looked at what there once was in my collection (some pictures and Nr. will follow).

I believe that there´s indeed a difference between the CKL and ckl marked ones. Most if not all ckl marked ones (they should be untouched!!) should have vented/ slotted alu side-bolts and slotted rear ones. Very late flared rim helmets steel bolts and ckl marking.

Let´s see, if I´m correct with

                Hi Steve:

                Interesting question.....

Mine is CKL marked. The lot number 4212 is below this. It was very hard to read this information as the stamping is very light and the liner band practically covers the CKL.

All aluminum slotted bolts. Mine came from the vet's family in Ohio.

I have a ND "ckl" 71 with all aluminum slotted bolts. I cant tell what the lot number is and I suspect it is covered by the liner band.

By the way, Larry, I WANT THAT HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, this thread is over 12 years old......, but since it has been resurrected , can I ask - does anyone know why some are marked CKL, while others are marked ckl ? Also, do we believe any of them had decals ?
