M38 Italian Camo Helmet?

Checked the German War Graves Site and found this Officer Karl Gassmann who died in 25.09.1944 and is buried in Andilly (France).
Like you said Steve it could be Normandy area Camo.

That's really interesting Gareth. As you know the Italy connection came from a dealer's description only. Now you need to find out a bit more about Karl Gassman.

Great helmet Gareth.

I am glad we are no longer calling this one an Italian camo. Regardless of what the dealer's have called, there would be no way to be sure that such a pattern/ color combo originated from Italy.

Even completely tan camo FJs have been encountered outside of tropical regions.
