              Nice one John -

I posted mine earlier in this thread taken in bright sunlight.

Here are a couple updated photos I snapped recently indoors.

Not sure "rare" is the best description, but certainly far less encountered.

Rare enough ! Good looking FJR6 . Nice to see so much decal showing, too.

Great helmet John Still much sawdust left...

                          Comment

My helmet has fine sawdust and nearly all is retained, if I recall correctly John's helmet has more coarse sawdust and has a different application done perhaps at a different time.

There are other examples similar to mine from Normandy Vets and they all display the same fine sawdust mixture used by FJR6, it is not worn away coarse texture.

Please correct me if I am wrong, I am not an FJ expert by any means. Thanks. More photos attached

Some have fine sawdust and others have coarse sawdust with obvious wood chips mixed with it. The coarse ones tend to lose their coating very easily. On some the green stripes are pronounced, and on others they are not. It all points to helmets being painted at different times and probably by different people. However the basic construction of the camo is the same.

                                Dear John and Jeff,

On behalf of the FJR6 Helmet Preservation Society, I'd like to offer you the privilege of donating your helmets to our cause.

I'm happy to personally pick them up from you both at no charge to either of you (or me). In return you will receive a tax deductible receipt and piece of mind knowing your helmets will be preserved for future generations to enjoy and appreciate. Especially me

Think it over, and give me a call.

                                Awesome helmets fellas!
