            Hello-

The knife in question is part of a group of items brought back by an American Soldier. I am getting scannned copie of photos he took while in Europe and a photocopy of his discharge from the U.S. Army. Sorry for any confusion.

Be advised that this knife was not just issued to paras but aircrew as well.

Exactly, this is a flyer's knife, not a "paratrooper" knife.

I have seen some Paul Weyersberg gravity knives that don't have ROSTFREI. Are these examples fake? What does one look for with fakes?
                  Thanks.

They probably are not fake. Early take down knives were maker marked and did not have stainless blades.

Here is a Weyersberg marked take down. It is, of course, not stainless and not marked so.

Cheers John! Thanks a bunch. The examples I have seen were not the take down version. But, the blade was marked as your example.

What makes it a luftwaffe exactly, does it have an emblem or marking FJ ones dont have?.
