Thanks Steve. What a deal huh? He advises, due to its high investment value of course, that he hopes the buyer is local. I am surprised he does not offer a hotal room for those potential overseas buyers.

I thought this got up to about 8 grand a few weeks ago..Now he can't even get one bid....Sounds very fishy to me!!!

By the way, wasn't the seller located on the East coast..now he has moved out West I guess

FJ helmet on ebay

Hi together, at first I want to introduce myself as a new member in this forum. I started collecting WWII medals /helmets when I received those things from my two grandfathers which served in the german army that time. Born near Frankfurt.Main /Germany I now live in switzerland.
I'm looking for a FJ-helmet and of course seeking also in ebay hopefully to catch "the real thing" . Reading your discussion with interest I think I'm getting real now that this will be a dream on ebay.
Anyway, heres another FJ-helmet to discuss.

Welcome to the forum(s). Best place to prevent being burned.

Saw this one too, and I am not impressed with the helmet you posted for review. To me, the camo is not right (looks new and too vivid), the form of the shell (mainly the rear flange), and the chin straps, all I have some concerns with. The pictures don't show a lot of detail, probably with a good reason.

Better save your money, and wait for one to appear here on the E-stand.

This helmet is a reproduction!

You can notice at once, that at least the shell shape, the centre stitching and the ET68 marking is wrong.

Please do a search in the fake FJ helmet section and you´ll find some examples of such "low 8" fakes.

Dave, from the photos the liner is bad. Can't tell for sure from the photos about the camo and wire, but rather unlikely it is legit.

Welcome to the fourm Carsten. Be careful on eBay, but we will help if we can. I have picked up some very nice FJ helmets from eBay during the early years, but originals draw alot of attention when they now appear.

Thanks Willi for the welcome. I'm trying to do my "homework" in reading this forum and checking the good and bad helmets posted here. This is a great help for a beginner
Found another one, I'm not sure. Compared the liner, etc. with other pictures. Also the decal looks a little different to those I saw in this forum.
