The liner photo sure looks convincing.
Although the pictures are poor, the liner and chinstraps look promising. I would need closer pictures to be able to give an informed opinion. So far, the liner looks good.

More pics available now. The seller has changed the auction to a private auction and the price is hovering at $3,800+ Looks authentic to me.

        I wonder what's up here????

The original auction was cancelled - last time I looked the bidding was over $3,800+ on a NO RESERVE auction. Now a new auction with bidding up to $3,700+ and the reserve not met.

        Comments anyone?????

I thought that was odd as well, the seller had posted in his previous auction that several buyers had requested a private auction and that he would be relisting the item in a private auction. Not really sure what to make of that, I don't know why as a buyer you would request a private auction? Anyways, I'm sure this one will end up far out of my price range. -Jeremy

It is now over 5k. And, it has not met the reserve. I suspect the guy at first didn't know what he had, but now he does. I bet he received lots of offers on the helmet and decided to run it again with more photos and comments.

I am not sure based on the photos. Could be a choice piece.

I think you are right on the money there. Just seems like way to much to spend without an in hand inspection or any kind of guarantee. -Jeremy

                weird

I asked if I could come and get an inspection as I am about 30 miles from them...response was we will see and then no other answers,I asked when the first auction ran and it was only at $750 when I asked..sounds and looks like a Repainted real helmet.just my thoughts, there was a Eastern European guy who lives in the Chicago area and was doing some awesome Camos about 6-7 years ago.

Interesting. Makes one wonder. I too would have to see it before I would bid on such a piece (and near the amount it is at) in today's market.

Two hours left and the reserve still has not been met.

I bet the reserve is never met and when the auction ends, the helmet will be offered to the highest bidder.

Maybe the reason the auction went private is so some dealer could get there hands on this one. I suspect once any dealer seeing what the market will pay - even without meeting the reserve - will be grinnig ear to ear.

This is becoming a rich mans hobby for sure.

especially from a guy with 2 feedback points...

                        I wouldn't send $100 to a guy with 2 feedback points, let alone $5K....

Well, he should have quickly taken those offers...

Like I said before, if it is ok, then it would be a choice helmet. And, choice items bring top $$$.

It's a shame to see these prices. I thing it's way to much, but than again Some "collectors" have too much money to spend and are ruining the market (especially on the US side of the pond).
