I know that captured British/ Commonwealth uniforms were used by FJs at certain times. We have heard this was so in Crete , before German tropical uniforms were issued , in that captured tropical uniforms were issued after the island was taken. There are pictures at the awards ceremonies that then followed , of British shirts and shorts being worn.
There are also the cases in Africa, after Tobruk was taken where British stocks of uniforms were then used by the Afrika Korps , and so I assume by extension this may have included FJ units perhaps ?
Have members any items in their collections, or photos to show of this very practice, and also where else it may have extended to ( eg in Italy? ) . It may be that items were re tailored to look German, as we have seen with requisitioned Italian camo material.
Any comments appreciated, exceptions to the rule are always interesting...
