    to summarize:

From late 1943 to January 1945 Oberleutnant Neumann, a country squire and game hunter, who himself never served at the front, taught sniper classes at Gross-Born training-grounds located 50 kilometers from his country estate in Pomerania.

When in late January 1945 the front came to Pomerania, he led the last sniper-class into battle himself. Neumann’s war lasted less than two weeks. From January 28 to February 10 he lost most of his men and racked up enough kills to earn him the sniper badge.

Below are the missing-in-action of Neumann's last sniper-training-company

I must admit when this was first posted I wasn't keen on the entries at all ....however with good detective work above and new posts I took another look.....

The FP Nr appears to be:

          09403 - 29.11.1944 Stab u. Einheit Festungs-MG-Bataillon Pommern-Stellung.

                  Thanks Lionel,
I was skeptical as well - but once I dug into it I realized what a truly exceptional story this Soldbuch tells.

So the Soldbuch is 100% proof of the sniper badge/patch was awarded and they do exist?

Would be nice to see more of the grouping (and the pictures!)

Well, what else should it be then? He got awarded with a Fake Badge in 1945? Here you have a well documented Guy, who was Instructor and then got himself awarded with the Sniper Badge. But....i am full of ..... right?
