And from a campaign map of Panzerregiment 4 (from Die Pantherabteilung Forster in Italy by Danny Bauer) I underlined the last point reached by the Panther in Italy, Burana 10 km under the river Po.
And practically the Wermacht in Italy, it ceases right on the right bank of the river Po .... Without ferries, the bridges destroyed by the bombers, the allied aircraft completely masters of the skies, that stray and bomb everything ... ....
It is the only way to cross the great river Po, for the frontline German soldiers left behind, and with small makeshift boats, on air chambers like life preservers, especially at swimming ..Attached Files

And even our Leopold irreversibly ruined or lost his fitst soldbuch in the passage of the River Po the night between 23 and 24 April 1944 ...
His new one was issued 2 days, on April 26, just over a week before the surrender, in Arzignano (Vicenza, almost 100 km to the north) which was a base of materials and spare parts of the Panzerregiment 4. The signature of the commander of the Werkstatt-Zug Oberleutnant Dipl. Ing. Spehr
