I marked the course of the 26 Panzer Division and in particular of his Panzer -Grenadier Regiment 9, from Coriano in Rimini to Sant'Aquilina where the Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 9 with a ten Panzer IV (of the Panzer Reg. 26 ) on 20 September are trying to slow down the allies that broke the Rimini line, about 2 km east of their positions, on the Covignano hill

a panzer IV of the 26th abandoned near Ospedaletto (2 km South of Santa Aquilina)

and After the retreat behind the Marecchia River, the fighting is slowed down by the heavy rains that heavily affect on the movements, especially of the mechanized means due to the clay terrain of the alluvial plain Romagna with its infinity of small rivers, and the front stops at the end of september on the Christa and his "emissary" Fiumicino river.....

and here in Fiumicino, a small fraction with the same name of the creek falls on October 4th against the Canadians ... ..

And the Fiumicino towards the sea (5/6 km) to give the idea of the tens and dozens of rivers, in Autumn loaded with impetuous water, which became systematically a German defense line and a problem for the Allied tanks ...

Crasemann died in prision in 1950.

Imprisoned in Special Camp 11 along with several other high ranking German personnel, in 1947 Crasemann faced a war crimes tribunal run by British authorities in Padua (Padova Italy) . This was in relation to a responsibility for the chain of command with the mass execution of 162 Italian civilians in the Padule di Fucecchio near Florence on 23 August 1944, by soldiers from the Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 26 and (in minor part) the Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 9.

During this time Craseman was the commander of 26th Panzer Division. He was found guilty of war crimes and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He spent the rest of his life in jail, dying in Werl on 28 April 1950.
