When they renumbered the Waffen SS Rgts in Okt. 43, the Rgt. 2 became Rgt. 14. The SS Gebirgsjäger Ausb. u. Ers Btl 7 was transfered to Gradiska/Oberitalien in 5.44???

No, it was standard regulations, that after being wounded, men were to be transfered to their Ersatz units for reassignment. Kolovrat was released from the hospital on 28.10.44. Of course in the fog of war regulations were not always followed.

I owned this Soldbuch Many-A-Moon ago, and it is unquestionably a PE collector's Dream-Come-True. If I dig hard enough, I may still have the research I did on this fellow waaaaay back....if so, I'll post some of the highlites....

I didn't know that, so this makes sense now.
I wonder why did he stay with his Ersatz unit more that 7 months, seems a bit long for a reassignment.
Standing to some accounts, around the 5th of may 1945, the AuE7 was retreating thru the Predilpass towards the austrian border, so your man was very likely wounded not far from there being hospitalized in Tarvis, that's pretty close.

I'm waiting for Hundestaffel news about the man, I'm very curious.

For me, it was nice to see that this "Prinz Eugen" Soldbuch is in good hands. I bought it from my good friend from Berlin (unfortunatley now deceased) about fifteen to twenty years ago. Like most collectors with limited funds have to do, I sold it to buy something else I wanted more. After seeing the message of Hundestaffel, I sold it to him, and he later sold it to someone else. It subsequently ended up on eBay, and Jeff (Jungco) was the lucky buyer.

After acquiring this Soldbuch in the 1990s, I paged through Volume 3 of Roger James Bender's Uniforms, Organization and History of the Waffen-SS, and was taken aback when I saw the photo of a "Prinz Eugen" soldier at the top of page 10. I was - and still am - 90% convinced that the photo is of Heinrich Kolovrat. I had asked several people who have an eye for photos to give me their opinions, and interestingly, all agreed that the soldier pictured in Bender's book, which I am posting here, is Kolovrat.
