I have a new information for the soldbuch of Hans Lanzius

Page 2 the soldbuch is open by the ostubaf.b.stabe:Erwin Reitz





Reitz born 04.01.1892, Party-Nr. 3.472.358, SS-Nr. 223.918. Served in WW1, awarded EK I . Joined SS as Hstuf. 28.09.1935, Stubaf. 09.11.1936, Ostubaf. 25.08.1939, Kdr. Totenkopfverbände II Elbe 29.03.1936 - 01.07.1937.
With 1. SS Totenkopfstandarte Oberbayern 1938, Kdr. SS-Totenkopf-Standarte K 24.06.1940 - 12.11.1940, Kdr. SS- Totenkopf-Rekruten-Standarte 06.05.1940 - 24.06.2940

But
According to MacLean, Reitz was commander of SS-Inf.Rgt. 8 from 1941-42, but was dismissed from his command. Do we know why? Furthermore, was he dismissed from the SS entirely in that year or was he subsequently killed, as there is no reference to him in the 1944 DAL's? I.E. What actually happened to him?

The last entry for him in the Führerliste is as Commander of III/SS-Inf.Rgt 8 in 1941. He didn't die until 1972.
