The soldbuch of Generaladmiral Alfred Saalwächter, from a footage taken by the Russian KGB authorities during a documentary about captured German Commanders after 1945.

In 1994, these records were open and many important papers saw the light after many years.

Saalwächter was imprisoned by the Soviet Union on June 21, 1945. He was convicted by a Soviet military tribunal of war crimes on 17 October and executed by firing squad in Moscow on 6 December.

The photo was taken during a presentation on the Military History Museum, in Dresden.
