VERY Late Jaeger Soldbuch Entry for CCC in Silver and Bronze!

This Jaeger officer was awarded his Infantry Assault Badge, CCC in Bronze and Silver, and a few days early an EKI while temporarily attached to the
SS - and all with one arm.

Pretty neat entries for a brave soldier.

Has anyone else seen simultaneous awards in the last days of the fight?

    regards, Robert

Sorry but i don't like that EKI entry one little bit. It's squeezed in at the bottom, the stamp doesn't really corelate with the signing officer and it's also after the date of the WB in silver award.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

I would love to see the rest of that soldbuch. The EK1 entry does maybe not look too good but occasionally even they did squeeze something in

Maybe the rest of the soldbuch gives an idea.

Yes, let us see the rest of the SB.

It was uncommon in Army-SBs to type decorations in with writing machines, especially that late in April 1945.

I am with Simon on that one, I don't like the EK.1 entry neither.

And for the IAB, and the two CCCs, those entries don't look good to me.

We need to see what units he was with. Anyone can put a typed page in a book and made it look old.

I'll post some more pictures. This is a great example of how odd something can look examined by todays collecting"norms", and the reality of awards and supporting documents in 1945. s/f Robert

I like it, unsure of the Ek as Simon pointed out. Typed scraps of paper would be logical for such late date period. Have many of these inc in SB for this period. Some straight of the telex machine. Hope to see more as mentiond.

I was very fortunate to acquire the entire estate from the soldier, including his complete uniform. I just got the last of it, which included his three decorations, his Soldbuch, and supporting documents. Among the supporting documents are daily battle rreports from both the officer school that fell under the Waffen SS for the battle, and the unit reports naming the lieutenant as not only leading company/battalion (-) sized units in combat, but specifically winning the EKI. I also have the Bundarchive records that he requested around 1966 showing the awards of his decorations.

There are also pictures of him after losing his arm as a Sergeant with his wound badge and EKII/wound badge, and with his CCC, EKI, and Infantry Assault Badge. I am amazed he actually took the time in literally the last days of the war to get a portrait-type studio photo done - but he did.

We'll start with the general photos and work into the Soldbuch.

                    regards, Robert

The Soldbuch has many additional pages added like shooting scores, equipment drawn (including his Jaeger officer issue), medical recovery, and the like.

Among the daily battle reports, Lt Wollinskiy's attachment to the Waffen SS is thoroughly documented.
