Can help you a little bit with translations. Some writing is illegible.

Page 5 section 11 shows that he could speak 3 foreign languages:
English, French, ?

Entry at bottom of page: zustandigen = competent or responsible
ersatztruppenteil = replacement troops
So entry might read: Competent in, or responsilbe for replacement troops of
Infantry Replacement Battalion, (Motorised) 76, Hamburg-Rahlstedt.

Page 5 section1 shows that he reported to his local WEDS in Hamburg on 21.6.1938 (Wehrersatzdienstelle or military recruiting office) but was not called up at that time.
He reported to WEDS in Stettin on 8.8.1944 and was found to be fit for military service (tauglich) and that he was fully trained and under 35 years old
(Ersatz-Reserve I). Have you visited www.percy.clara.net great site!

Many thanks Larrister, I'm looking at the Wehrpass site with some enthusiasm now! Just one thing, the guy had his arm amputated due to an injury in Sep 9 '41. This caused him to be discharged. I think the entry you are referring to is the lower one on pg5 with the 'I' roman numeral.

That refers (I presume) to the above Juli 1933 visit. I think he did report to the station in 1944 but (again presumably) because he was missing an arm, they didn't put any entries in the 'II' section. - he certainly wasn't fit for service

Any idea what that word in section 12 page 4 is?

I, like most people have a lot of trouble decyphering Sutterlin script.
Word in section 12 page 4 is a case in point.
Could be fahrtenshe??mer.

sorry laririster, all my fault! Thanks for the sutterlin site, it has confirmed the "Travel" part of the word as Ian has offered, not sure about the "float" part though , (Ian, are you the guy who helped "Mak Los Mien Schnitzel" with his letter...I'm one and the same guy )

That section is normally filled with entries such as swimmer, driving licenses, civilian sporting badges etc......looks like Fahrtenschwimmer to me!

These online translators are not upto much.......I don't know exactly what style of swimming it is!!!

According to my German Military Dictionary, "Fahrtenschwimmer" means a qualified swimmer on the basis of a time endurance test, hope that helps.

"Fahrtenschwimmer" is a rather basic swimming certificate (something like swimming 30 minutes and jumping from a board), only one above the "Freischwimmer" which everyone took who learned swimming.
