There are three examples of documented battle damaged booklets on this webpage, none of them have any blood stains visible: http://www.101airborneww2.com/souvenirs2.html

The damage shown is unquestionably attributed to legitimate combat / battle damage, and I'm sure that those with experience in such damaged Soldbuchs will agree.

Did anyone notice that this Soldbuch / additional papers, was protected by / carried within a Wehrpass protective cover ???

I did notice that, it looks like the wehrpass stamp was scratched out?

Any ideas on what this black "wehrpass cover" is?

        Thanks,
        Swayne

I would agree to it being schrapnel damage.
"it" went trough a cover, a soldbuch and a wehrmacht-führerschein (which is made of special cloth).
And ofcourse also the clearly visible tears and stress to the ripped area.

That price is great, i would have bought it.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Any other clues on the time frame of the damage? You should look for this more closely when you receive the grouping. For all we know, there's a POW paper affected as well.
Please note he was in hospital during the last months of the war and was sent home for one month on the 7th of April 1945 to free his bed for other wounded! So basically he was not meant to fight anymore during the final days of the war. Not saying that him or his booklet couldn't have been hit by shrapnell during that period, but it's just.. less likely.
