    Nico. Great book.

What is the last dated entry in your book before he was captured? I have a Bulge soldbuch to a soldier who fought at Bastogne and his US pow number is in the exact same spot, and the same '31g' style stamp was used. I am not sure when my guy was captured, but based on the dates in mine I am leaning towards late December or January (the last date in mine is December 5th). The Bulge book Chris posted in the other thread has a pow number of 767,549... So it seems fighters captured in the Bulge have a number in that range.

Here is mine. He was apart of Füsilier-Regiment 39 of the 26. Volksgrenadier-Division which fought against the 101st Airborne at Bastogne. Mine seems to have some blood stains at the top of all the pages, so he may have been wounded in the Ardennes since he didn't seem to have any battle experience before then.

            Hi

I would like to add this soldbuch of Willi Meyer ,Gren Rgt 48, 12 Infantry Division.

He went through all of the big battles of his division and I believe he was at Aachen and then the Bulge. No 1945 entry anywhere in the soldbuch or POW number.

A fellow with the same name/birthdate is listed on the Volksbund, MIA 1/1/45 in Poland but Willi Meyer is such a common name.

            Well worn and nice awards.

Hi Lee! Look at this... we allmost have the some book.
My guy was also there in all big battles the division fought, and my book is also without a passphoto as issued... and isn't filled in anymore after 1944. And with the same 5 awards.... !!!

                    Kind regards,

                    Nick

                      Hello Nick

Yes they are similar. It is possible they crossed paths a time or two , with one man in the 4th company and the other in the 5th.

Find it interesting to see that they recieved the exact same awards...

Here's one of my 12.Infanterie-Division/12.Volksgrenadier-Division Soldbuchs. He went through all of the same battles as your guy, but went on to win the EKI, and then the GAB for the Battle of Hürtgen Forest.

It also has a killer photo
