    WP Totenkopf info needed

    Hello collectors,

I have a WP from a guy served in the SS Totenkopf division.
the wehrpass itself has been discussed here but i can not get the link in it??

Anyway, i have a few questions on "how to read a WP" and it might sound stupid but the German hand writing.........in combination with specific "Army slang"........

    Ok, my questions:

1)Can someone "read" the signature of the Major (Sturmbahnfuhrer)? Am i correct by saying the stamp says J.U. (then signature) Major? What means J.U.?

    2) What means "stammrollen" and what was the function?

    3) can someone tell me a bit more about the units he served? I know the 1st one was 8th Kleines Kraftwagen Kolonne, but then i can see" 4th K. Kp." what does that mean?

Apparently Berlin got bombed as the last unit was not filled in

    4) FYI the feldpostnummer has been identified 29242 and this seems to be correct according to stempelbank

    5) what kind of wound did he got?

    6) picture has been taken out (unfortunately!) and it is not possible to get more info from the guy. If there is someone on this forum living in Karinthien send me a PM

May i thank everybody already for his / her contribution?

    Cheers

The Major signature in question 1...is that the same signature on page 1? i.e. the issuing Major from the Wehrmebirks or Wehrmeldamt....not SS.

Off home now...will have a look at the other questions later.

I agree with Ian, it will be easyer with all the photo of your Wehrpass to help yourself. For sure this is Major from the Wehrmebirks or Wehrmeldamt who delivre this document.

OOps...as Gerdan pointed out in a PM to me, I made a mistake..........

The Major signed "i. A." - im Auftrag - by order of - and not "i. V." - in Vertretung.

                  hi ian

i forgive you on your mistake

Am i correct with Obersturmfuhrer Kohler, is (or was) he the assistent of Hugo Jury?

                  Info Hugo Jury Wikipedia:
                  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hugo Jury (13 July 1887, Mährisch Rothmühl (now Moravská Radiměř, Czech Republic) – 8 May 1945, Zwettl, Lower Austria) was an Austrian Nazi.

Hugo Jury was a physician and a National Socialist politician. From 11 March to 13 March 1938, he was Minister for Social Administration in the Seyß-Inquart government. In May 1938, he became Gauleiter of the Gau of "Reichsgau Niederdonau" (Lower Austria). As of 1940 he was furthermore Reich Governor, and as of 1942 also Reich Defence Commissar, for this region.

He committed suicide at the end of World War II.

He was reputed to have been the lover of Elisabeth Schwarzkopf.[1]
                  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or am i going too far?

                  Just curiosity :-)
