    Here is the Soldbuch of Obermaat Heinsen, he served with the Küstenartillerie in France and won the EKII and the Kriegsabzeichen der Marineartillerie.

      Who knows anything about the Admiral who signed the Kriegsabzeichen document?

      Does anyone know of any actions that took place in Juli of 1941 for which Heinsen won the EK2?

            From what I can see he served with:

            FP No. 11084 - 3 Battr., Marine Flak Abt. 804 (in Brest)
            FP No. 10353 - Stab u. 1-7 Battr., Marine Flak Abt. 804 (in Brest)
            FP No. 07853 - Stab Marine Art.Abt. 286 (in Biarritz, later Bayonne)
            FP No. 19136 - Stab u. 1-3 Battr., Marine Art.Abt. 262 (in Brest)
            FP No. 24624 - Stab u. 1-9 Battr., Marine Flak Abt. 820 (in St. Nazaire)

              From what I can find, the Amiral might be Johann Bachmann.

              Born 22.3.1890 in Werdau
              Marinestation der Nordsee, Chef der Stabes 8.1936 - 8.1940
              Küstenbefehlshaber Ostfriesland 8.1940 - 2.1941
              Küstenbefehlshaber Deutsche Bucht 2.1941 - 6.1942
              Marinebefehjlshaber Westfrankreich/ Kom. Admiral Atlantikküste 8.1942 - 3.1943
              zur verfügung gestellt 31.5.1943
              Gefallen 1.4.45

              He was promoted to dmiral on 1.9.42

                thank you for the answer. I think this too is Bachmann, at least the military posting (Westfrankreich) fits.

                Any word on how he was killed in action????
