59th
I thought I would add to this great thread a soldbuch to a member of the 59th Infantry Division.
Emil Goertz was sent to the Pioneer Btl of the division after ending his home leave from service in Norway. In August he joined gren. rgt. 1034 and issued a rifle the end of August.
Oddly the security check stamp on Sept. 1 1944 only has gren. rgt, nothing else and the stamping is clearly made.
He would have participated in OP M-G and he was wounded during the Battle of the Scheldt. The last date in the id is 12/44, the 59th was fighting near Aachen at the time, fate unknown.
