    Help with Wehrpaß entry!

Help! I can not exactly make out what is being said here:

"Am 28 März 1943 an der Folgen der ereittenen (oder Weittenen, Weissenen)? Verbrennung durch wasserdampf verstorben."

"Died on 28th March 1943 as a result of further? burns through steam"

Interestingly this person was a member of a Grenadier unit and not Kriegsmarine......

    TIA, Ian

I wonder what sort of situation he was in to warrant that sort of demise!!

I worked in an urban emergency ward for years. You'd be surprised how many freakish ways there are to die, all around us every day. Could have been a laundry kettle overturning, or a fatal mishap with a field kitchen "goulash cannon."

Yes, hot undies or soup CAN kill.

This guy was awarded the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold 1 month after his death so I don't suppose ghoulash would warrant such an award!
However, if it was combat related pretty horendous.......an accident then poor sod!!!

                Ian-

What was the name of this unfortunate DKiG holder?

                Best wishes,
