    Hello Ian,
There is an entry on page 20.
    It is dated 4.10.1944.
It carries the U-Boot Stutzpunkt Flensburg stamp.
    It is signed by Reith.
Amazing! This does all fit together!
I had no idea it might be a security check.

        Very nice Roy

        Thanks for sharing it.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how WWI got started.

About the "U" Stamp on page one ?????

I do have Uboot Soldbücher with and without an U-Stamp !!!!

For example Hans Gottermeyer DK Gold, was before and during the war (U103 and U198) on Uboats, but there is no U-Stamp in his Soldbuch.

            Hello Eric-Jan,
Don't be concerned about the lack of a U-stamp.
While it's a desireable feature, I believe you will find more examples without the stamp than with it.

              Hi Roy,

No I wasn't concerned about Soldbücher without the U-Stamp, as you say - right - there are more Uboatpassess without an U-Stamp than passess with the stamp in it.

On the market there are even Kriegsmarine Soldbücher with an U-Stamp in it while the owner of the pass never was on an uboat or based with an uboatflottilla, not even simply working in a bunker or some thing like that.
It isn't to hard to put a simple "U" stamped in a booklet.

              yours Eric

And finally the award page. Interestingly the day Herr Sommer was award the U-Boots Abzeichen, Herr Budich was awarded the U-Boots Frontspange in Bronze. By this time he had completed 6 patrols (5 with U-129 and 1 with U-190, the latter not being operational!).

                          U-129 / U-190

                          Fantastic example Ian!
                          Super awards page!
Great to see Reith's signature / security checks matching up on both.
It's amazing that these two soldbuchs which crossed paths in 1944, meet again in 2003!
Please put my name on it should you ever decide to part with it.
