          Hello douglynn,

congratulations! I love the look of it.
Geb. Jäg. Rgt. 100 was also in Crete so it would be worth checking if he was also.

bit more info After nearly a year on the Eastern Front, the Division was moved to Italy and in December 1943 the 5th arrived on the "Gustav Line" near Cassino. Late in the War the Division fought in the mountain region between France and Italy and then surrendered to the Americans near Turin in May, 1945.

Hm, I don´t think he was in Crete then.
I can see that he served in III. / Geb. Jäg. Rgt. 100. This Battalion was fully destroyed while trying to attack Crete by sea as far as I know.
But of course he could have been in the Bat. afterwards, as you say in Russia or so.

                Regards
                Klaus

It´s really hard to read but I think it´s "Ortslaz. Grugliasco". That means Ortslazarett which is a military hospital in a town. I don´t know where it is.
Well, you should basically look the in the section where all his combats are written. Sometimes Soldbuchs don´t have these entries for any reason.
