    SS FJ Soldbuch

    Hello All

Aplogies if this is in the wrong section, but I thought this more relevant to paperwork than Fallschirmjäger.

Question is with regard to SS Fallschirmjäger troops.

Did they carry the standard SS Soldbuch or the LW one. My own thoughts are that the SS one is appropriate, but how were the issue of "specialist items" such as jumps smocks, helmets, boots and trousers recorderd?

My thoughts are that an extra insert was added to the Soldbuch for these items.

Can anyone confirm if this would be correct?

    Thanks in advance.

    Merry Christmas to you all.

Rod, I interviewed Siegfried Milius back in the late 80's, he was the commander of the 500th, and according to him your assumption is correct, they had SS soldbuchs with FJ equip noted. Regards, Brian

      Hello Brian

Thanks for that - greatly appreciated.

Out of interest, have you ever published the interview? I've recently bought a short biography of Kurt Rybka which I have yet to translate.

      Merry Christmas.

Kai Winkler had one a year or so back, from one of the vets from Gran Sasso. That was a ordinary SS-Soldbuch.

I know of 4 more....2 of which are owned I believe by the owner of the one in the link above....the other 2 are in private collections......

I am sure they are on the internet somewhere though!?!?

                  Try a Google search.
