Hello Folks -
I purchased this cross appoximately 11 years ago and am just dusting off elements of my collection and re-organizing things. I also recently invested in an affordable digital microscope and it's energized my interest in the scientific part of the hobby to a greater degree. Attached are pictures of my S&L cross, I "believe" this may be considered the type A variant? It's interesting that the frosting appears very yellow when I scope it greatly. I am not sure if that comes across in these photos.
Yes - I know it only has a single loop and that is not correct. Oddly enough, this KC is attributed to Von Gersdorff, and the best photo I have of him wearing his cross clearly shows a single loop ... so who knows, right - I fall back on the often said, phrase, "buy the artifact, not the story" . ...
