    Unusual screw back 1939 EK1

This is a first with me for a 1939 EK1 screw back iron cross in that the set up is very much like that of WWI first class screw back iron crosses. The cross is flat and the disc slightly convexed. The retaining screw is welded to another slightly convexed and scalloped disc, then all pieces have been nickle silver plated. It is totally unmarked (any thoughts?).

Last picture (and maybe I will learn how to do all this properly sometime soon!).

Perhaps the moderaton will delete the other pictures in the posts I did of the pictures.

                George,

                Very nice!

Although I think the crosses are different, the large disc appears to be very much the same.

Is the large disc flat or convex?

                Thank you,

                Chuck

The disc is convex, as is (very slightly) the EK itself.

Well, I actually figured out who the maker was of this cross myself.

I thought that the beading looked awfully familiar so I checked it with one of my crosses that I thought it resembeled. Sure enough, it is an unmarked B.H. Mayer (26). The beading, swastika, and date numerals are an identical match to one another.

                    Case solved!
