        Is that type of ring from another award? Why would it be stamped "800"?

          I believe it's made from a ribbon loop.

          Note how it's put together...not simply two ends butted together.

            Roy, can you get a calipers on the small ring and measure the thickness of the wire used to make it?

                      Great pics! Obviously silver wire was available in different diameters. Maybe the reason that the mini rings are '800' stamped is because there was some sort of 'rule' that only certain standards of materials could be associated with such awards, even if they were upgrades?? Any maybe they were always made from suspension loops.
