Very interesting to hear Bob, this one came from an old collection, the man that was the previous owner was over 90 years ol,d now deceased. He bought the cross in germany,hamburg in the late 40´s according to his notes 1949, he kept notes of all pieces that he bought, he had owned it for over 50 years. I bought large parts of his estate.

Everything we know about 57 DK's points to Deschler as the maker of this type, though some collectors seem unwilling to accept that for some reason!
There are two Deschler 57 DK variants, one with domed rivets (like this one) and another with open rivets, the Domed rivet type is believed to be the earlier, your date of purchase for this piece confirms that!!
