Unknown maker, which produced 57er DK's, too.
            Regards

Agreed, could be Deumer / Deschler ... we don't know yet.
Normally they are found in 1957 style ( non-swastika )

I have had one of these for almost 50 years. I have only seen two others. There must have been very few of the WW2 type made.

Very interesting to hear Bob, this one came from an old collection, the man that was the previous owner was over 90 years ol,d now deceased. He bought the cross in germany, hamburg in the late 40´s according to his notes 1949, he kept notes of all pieces that he bought, he had owned it for over 50 years. I bought large parts of his estate.

Everything we know about 57 DK's points to Deschler as the maker of this type, though some collectors seem unwilling to accept that for some reason!
There are two Deschler 57 DK variants, one with domed rivets (like this one) and another with open rivets, the Domed rivet type is believed to be the earlier, your date of purchase for this piece confirms that!!

Nigel, when you wrote that it probably was made by Deschler, I started comparing the cross I have to a heavy deschler marked with 1 on the pin. I can see alot of points on my cross that conforms with the Deschler. This is also a very heavy cross, then they have similiar numerals, especially the "1"-numerals, the catch and the wreath. Very interesting discussion.

don't think I've even seen a cross like this.
