    People interested in this topic shpould buy the book below, published in 2013. It shows all the photos of this thread. It also touches base on some other products of Deschler, like the Golden Party Badge, KVKs, GC, but only very briefly.

      So what was the "treat for the eyes" the engravers had? The ivy? Green is supposed to be soothing to the eyes

                        Absolutely fascinating...I had always assumed that the core received its black finish before assembly. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put it all together here.

                        To round the thread off nicely, can anyone post minty examples of the Deschler EKs ?
