                Thanks Matthieu,
What is the main problem you see with them.
                Thanks,
                Peter

                    Thanks stukapilot,
As I am on a learning curve, could you elaborate on this?
                    Thanks,

Peter they both look like Floch fakes http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=147722&page=7. Jim

                        Hi Peter

I agree with the others. The second clasp is a well know floch fake discussed in the thread Jim mentions and the first clasp is a copy of this original one attribued (by some) to Schmidthaussler (Pforzheim) of which a front picture is enclosed for you to compare. The reverse hardware is also very different on an original.

Doing the same "identify the differences in the 2 pictures" excercise thas we used to do as kids in the "funnies section" of the saturday morning newspaper should make the differences obvious.

                        Regards

                        JC

                          spange

JC is correct about the first one, I started thinking late last night that I had been wrong saying a Floch about this one. If you compare the pictures JC posted you will see differences, plus the footing of the catch looks like what Souval used post-war on a lot of his medals. Jim

                            Thanks Jim and Jean-Claude,
Your pics are very helpful JC, as was your Floch link Jim. Thanks very much for your contributions. These are part of a collection of items being offered for sale, but many of them are now looking exceedingly dodgy.
                            Thanks,
                            Peter

                              I fully agree.
