the differences about the 2 mm are now clears.

I started this thread because some time ago I bought one EKII 1939 unmarked, attributable to 55 J.E. Hammer & Sohne Geringswalde, but marked 2 on frame.

Good cross but fake mm punched "aftremarket" to increase probably the value.

I think this it could be the same operation.

It looks like this 'Stub Nose ' L/12 fake where an extension on the tip of the 1 was added ! Besides it appears the side was filed first and the mark added afterwards as the top of the 2 has 'pushed up' the edge Douglas
