    Estand Fake EKII Ribbon

I've PM'd the vendor with my opinion that the ribbon is a reproduction and sent him a link to show my reasoning but 5 hours later he hasn't changed the description.

Ian, you can show the donkey the water, but you can't make it drink

                      loops

Do the end loops on the black edge look bigger on the real one too ? The orange looks close for a rookie like me.

Thanks for sticking your neck out for the truth.

The horizontal 'weft' thread should be more pronounced as on these West Wall ribbons of mine ..

The reproduction has another weft thread that joins the ones we see above together ... this makes the edge look 'smoother' than on an original.

I can't express it better than Tom Yanacek did in this thread .. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=luftschutz post #26

The majority of modern ribbons use an interlocking whip-stitch that reinforces the selvage by locking up the looped ends and therefore the modern ribbons will lack the open loops and scalloped edges that are so evident on original period ribbons. So, in most cases, it is easy to tell an original ribbon from a modern one.

                            hello everybody.
this is the seller. just want to let know that the buyer is adviced about the ribbon is a repro. he will pay just for the cross or for a full set with an original (short) ribbon.
