This examples shows - what I am guessing - the new replacement 20 to the damaged 20 - which seams to be a tad larger .
This indicates to me that damaged marking die was kept to remark L/52 marked pins .

Now to the question if this flawed 20 shows up by itself on the pin with no other mark : the answer is yes -- but hard to find .
To me the double marked pins have original marking dies and I would think they are war time marked . Factory bombed ... did the flawed die survive for some one to use post war ? --- I doubt very much .
The flawed die saved to remark the L/52 marked pins .

Thanks Douglas for these nice exemples of flawed "2". Even if the flawed die
survived there is no interest to remark these crosses.

Now, about die flaw on the frame for double marked crosses, what's your opinion ? I didn't find a "20" with the same die flaw from my double marked cross.

Not the best pictures ... all 3 have the same flaw on the bottom of the 2 and would mean they are the same mark .

I agree, the EK1 on Collectorsguild is a fake.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Douglas, now I am speaking about the frame of the cross. See post "20" and you will see in a" red zone" that my double marked cross has flaw on the frame. All crosses marked only "20" have not that die flaw on their frame. And when they are marked L/52 (under the catch), no die flaw either. We only find that die flaw on their frame when :

                - They are double marked
                - They are simple marked L/52 (under the pin).

Yes the flawed beading from post 20 .
One does see worn beading similar to that on crosses of other makers .
Mostly just a worn die ... and to best I can tell ... this seams to be the case here as well .... just a worn die .
It is some what fitting that they are L/52 marked LDO pieces first as they may not meet internal quality standards ?
May have been put away and a demand shortage forced them to be used again and remarked with 20 .... just as a plain guess .
