Now the question really is: How does that unknown RK look and why is it "only" Euro 4,000.-?

As I said earlier: In Detlev's new Price Guide, page 490! This is the wrong picture, a mix-up or whatever. I want to know what the real picture for this 'unknown' maker should have been. Her refers to 'unknown' maker and did put this cross (post #1) as a reference in his book, by mistake I guess.

I love it when you speak French Roy....

DM...rather unscientific of you as you know how mis-leading print material can be

Puzzle is all coming together now. Our rounders are valued at 4000 Euros per Detlev's guide but he screwed up on the photos. Very teenage rumoresque of me to say it so bluntly, but cie le Vies.

                    Okay,

let me try again and please excuse my english:

The cross I posted under #1 is a scan of page # 490 of Detlev's new price guide. This cross is labeled "unknown" or better "Other manufacturers" in his category h) and has a value of Euro 4,000.- in this price guide.

Now it is clear - after closer examination - that this cannot be an unknown cross since it is evidently and clearly a Juncker! So I guess the picture was mistakenly put under the category h). In other words, there should be a picture of a really unknown cross. Now, and please bear with me, since this 'other manufacturer' cross has round corners and we all know that one can easily mix up a Juncker round corner with a real Rounder, it might very well be that the actual picture in this price guide under category h) should have been a picture of a Rounder (but maybe not ...) since Gordon W. was also involved in the making of this guide and we all know his position.

No matter what, the cross on page 490 is wrong (= Juncker) and there should be a picture of a cross which Detlev labels "other manufacturer" and puts a price tag of Euro 4,000.- to it.

I would like to know how that cross looks and what Detlev considers 'other manufacturer'. At this point in time, page 490 is incorrect!

Did I explain it correctly this time?

Yes, you're trying to say Detlev should know the difference between a Rounder and a Juncker but in after a hoe down at a local militaria show messed up the photos in a haze. I suppose he doesn't have a sense of humor either and I better be careful... Bottom line, we'd all like to know what his true intent was on that page.

Yes, we all believe what we want to believe....

But Detlev is clearly saying that there are "other manufacturer" and I just would like to know what he considers as such, i.e. I want to see the picture he REALLY wanted to have on page 490. That's all.

DM, I'm joking and you know it! Your English is fine and so too your French....oh no, wrong movie...

Really though I understand and I'm sure everyone else does but the 'foundation' just isn't there to assert the possibility of the Rounder!

However, if there is an assertion of an 'unknown' maker for Knight's Crosses I may start to believe in the 'DOTTED' DKiG....suddenly appearing after 60 years and DISAPPEARING even quicker!

He might not think of a Rounder, yes, but he clearly states that there are 'other manufacturers' and he shows a (wrong) picture of one. So he must have thought of something, wouldn't you think?

I agree....a bloody mistake as it happens trying to post and catalogue thousands of pictures when 'others' have their self serving hands in the pot!!!!
