Unmarked EK2 with interesting ring attachment

I have never seen one (or at least never noticed one) with the ring set into a notch in the frame, rather than an open ring soldered to an intact frame. Did more than one maker do this? Can the maker be ID'd from this or any other aspects?

I love the untouched patina of this cross.

I'm surprised no one has any input or interest.

Oh well... I like it, it's a gorgeous cross.

this is a very interesting piece to me.IMO I never saw ago such type
solution and this new to me on the suspension ring . The frame very similar the Grossmann, but not same, because the core completely different

such type cross already saw ,but we could not tell what it is this of him another site not

(maybe that this is a new age copy ,but I do not know sorry but this is only my opinion)

Interesting Sanya and thanks for the post.

I sure can't imagine this is a copy... I have had a high end fake ek2 in the past (3 piece and good construction) but it was still not the quality of this cross.

This looks to me like a good ek2 and for some reason this manufacturer used a different style ring attachment. Honestly this way looks almost easier to accomplish.

The hand chasing of the details... The minute detail... All scream original to me.

If this were a copy I would think it would have to sell for the same price as an original!

The frame is silver from what I can tell.

I would love to hear more opinions and ideas about this one.

Well I have corresponded with a top cross collector, and his verdict is that this is a good cross. The attachment method is seen on Imperial crosses, though he can't recall seeing one on a 39 version.

So it's a good, but odd cross.

In this forum? I can try to look at threads later.

Thanks for trying to look. So as of now it's a good cross in the standard pattern with odd, older-styled ring attachment. I wonder if that would date this as an earlier cross?

No Brian ... it was not on the forum . A dealer update I got in my own emails from last week .
Your cross is an original cross that is certain .

It seems to me that the little ring is not original and was re-attached.

The thickness of frame was sawn and adapted to the small ring, which had to be re-attached (in the absence of the original ring).

                              But it's IMO

                              Regards
