Ten of the repordetly known to be exist 20 are documented in my book "The German Cross". Since the publication date I could collect photos and data of several more. They are really something!

Based on Maerz's book and my research, we now have data of 19 of 20 GC in Diamond.
Each of them has been assigned with our unique reference code, eg, Bob Hritz's one is GCiD #03/20. This Tiger1's one now been assigned with GCiD # 17/20).

I'm fairly sure one just sold a few weeks ago in the 1st Thies - Johnson auction for $49,000 plus a 25% buyer's commision.,

That's right, Bob is the member that owns one. Thanks Chen.

Tony, I remember seeing this at the SOS some years ago, and it was stunning to examine in hand, and I appreciate you showing it to me! Thanks for posting the pics of this gem.

I wish it was mine. I brokered this piece about a dozen years ago. I did have the pleasure to have it in my care for a several months until it sold. An exceptional piece of craftsmsnship and the ironic unfulfilled history as they were never awarded.

No it can't Chen. That one belongs to another WAF/GCA member, not Bob.

Part of the joy is sharing with fellow collectors.
