Oh Fabri .... just the Deschler King I wanted to talk to.

Having a few Deschlers you probably- at least I am hoping - you have one or two with a 'dimple/pimple 9 '( for lack of better description) ???
I am pretty sure the core in post 34 has them . I have been studying this core and date for some time . I first thought it might be a S&L ... found nothing with that low last 9 .... so dropped that idea .
Then on a more worn core die I noticed this flaw chip on top of both 9s that looks like small points .
A core found used a few other makers . This long flaw, Juncker 3 flaw frame and even S&L to my surprize .
I know the 3 balls do look a bit different on some cores ---> but that 3 different cores having the same identical flaw is not possible .

I received the Deschler book last week and it helped a lot and eliminated S&L for now of being the source of the core as they did not get involved until a few months later .
The original group of companies to develop a useable EK as per guidelines was Godet, Maybauer, Juncker and Paul Küst with Deschler being the lead company .( pages 45and 46) for those who have the book .
After a cross size and design was finalized and accepted S&L was ordered to to supply dies and tooling to others .
The book clearly states S&L did not use Deschler design die but made their own master , which is identifiable , to supply to others finally to achieve a consistent appearance .

    Cheers, Douglas

In my opinion the 2nd option is that the unknown manufacturer supplied parts or crosses to Juncker but just in a 2nd time.
Fabrizio, maybe you have and right, but that does not give answers to questions that asked Trevor ...
why did they use W&L frames? Why did they switch to the "common L/12" frame from the "crunch-bead" frame? Why did they use non-magnetic cores late in the war? Why did they use some W&L pins? ...

Well Jarek ... Juncker bought the back up die set from W&L for a 4 digit price tag . The source of this info will not come forward to confirm this .
Juncker participated in the Gablonz Manufacturing process for which they used Zink cores .

          Hi Douglas,

The cross on the right in your diagram above that's labeled S&L looks like a Juncker to me. Can you show the whole cross please?
          Best regards,
          Streptile

I spent hours looking for the cross and any other pictures . I could not find it or any other pictures . Checked old back up copies and that section is missing .- which came off of my win 98 system ( about 12 years ago) which allowed you to rotate picture like that . Looks like any other pictures I had were lost with one of the 2 hard drive crashes I had . That cross itself is not amongst any of the crosses I have now .... checked every cross for that feature an the date and all my Junckers with that feature of which non matched and I have never sold any Juncker .
Tried to bring out features in the corners and not able to do that either .. and an old labeling that appears odd the more I think about it . S&L and Juncker did have dealings with each other for a short period . S&L having used Juncker or Deschler cores is not impossible but highly unlikely . Looks like that part of the picture could be mislabeled .
The porpose of the picture was to see if the cores(or die) could have been supplied by Deschler .

                Hi Douglas
have you asked me if I have a Deschler with a point on top of the 2nd 9 ?

                Hi Jarek
I can not answer to your questions, I don't know why Juncker used so many different parts from own and other makers too.
                They were assemblers too..

With reference to our discussion of the crosses so-called Juncker long flaw, I want to show pictures of the imperial cross with frame with a long flaw and additionally signed on the small circle number "2"

                      What do you think?

                      Regards
